Russell & Bromley customers are facing restrictions on using gift cards and loyalty points following the brand’s recent acquisition by Next, which saved the iconic shoe chain from collapse. Next has finalized a deal to acquire Russell & Bromley for £2.5 million for the brand and intellectual property, along with an additional £1.3 million for a portion of its current stock. However, the acquisition only covers three out of 36 Russell & Bromley stores, specifically its Bluewater, Chelsea, and Mayfair locations.

As a result of the acquisition, Russell & Bromley stores in Exeter and Manchester have initiated closing down sales, while other branches are still at risk of closure. Customers are advised that gift cards and loyalty points will no longer be accepted for purchases at Russell & Bromley. Any inquiries regarding this change should be directed to the Administrators.

For customers with outstanding orders or faulty products, contacting the administrators via email at customer.experience@russellandbromley.co.uk is recommended. Additionally, customers may seek refunds through their banks. Orders above £100 made with a credit card may qualify for a refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. For purchases made with a debit card or credit card under £100, customers may explore Chargeback within 120 days of the transaction.

Established in 1880 by George Bromley and Elizabeth Russell in Eastbourne, Russell & Bromley currently employs over 450 individuals and is now under the leadership of Andrew Bromley. Next expressed its commitment to preserving the brand’s legacy and providing operational stability to support its growth in the future. Andrew Bromley, the CEO of Russell & Bromley, acknowledged the difficult decision to sell the brand but emphasized the move as essential for securing its future.

Furthermore, the acquisition by Next aims to enable Russell & Bromley to refocus on its core mission of designing and curating premium footwear and accessories for years to come.
