Traveling with young children can seem daunting, but there are cities that make it easier. LateRooms’ Family Breaks Index recently ranked European cities based on factors like flight times, walkability, and family-friendly activities. Copenhagen emerged as the top choice for families due to its short flight from the UK and convenient airport-to-city metro service.

Copenhagen is a walkable city with good accessibility, making it ideal for families with young kids. The city offers a range of family-friendly attractions, including Tivoli Gardens, a historic amusement park with rides, themed areas, restaurants, and playgrounds. The Experimentarium and Nationalmuseet are other popular spots that cater to children with interactive exhibits and play areas.

Families can also enjoy canal tours, visits to landmarks like the Little Mermaid statue, and exploring attractions such as the Rundetårn and Amalienborg Palace. While LEGOLAND may be a bit far for a day trip, the city boasts a large LEGO store with interactive displays.

Copenhagen’s dining scene is also family-friendly, with many restaurants offering kids’ menus alongside traditional Danish cuisine for adults. Places like Hyttefadet and Restaurant Nyhavn 41 provide options for both kids and parents to enjoy a meal together while exploring the city.
