Canada faced new accusations of misconduct during a women’s match against Switzerland at the Winter Olympics. The Canadian men’s team had a heated exchange with Sweden during their game, marked by controversy over alleged double-touching incidents on the ice.

The Swedish team claimed that members of the Canadian team had double-touched the stones, which occurs when stones are touched on or after the hog line, the point of release. The dispute carried over to the next day when Canadian curler Rachel Homan had her stone disqualified for allegedly touching it after release, despite her protests.

Homan and her teammates expressed frustration over the ruling, with second player Emma Miskew stating they believed it was a clean throw. Homan remarked on the lack of video replay to confirm the decision, insisting there was no way she had committed the infraction.

Following the contentious events in the men’s game the previous day, Curling Canada addressed the cheating allegations and an incident involving player Marc Kennedy’s language on TV. The organization confirmed that officials had closely monitored for rule infractions but found no violations after thorough observation.

While Kennedy acknowledged his use of inappropriate language, he defended his actions as a means of protecting his team’s integrity. He emphasized his commitment to fair play and denied ever cheating for a competitive advantage throughout his long career.

Sky has announced a price reduction for its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the upcoming season, offering significant savings for members and an expanded lineup of live matches, including an increased number of Premier League games.
