Amazon is set to introduce a new streaming device to its lineup, offering features that surpass current models. The Fire TV Stick HD is the latest entry-level device from the tech giant, priced at £39.99 and scheduled for release later this month. Despite its lower price point, it boasts enhancements such as a slimmer and more stylish design compared to its predecessor.

With a 30% reduction in width, the new Fire TV Stick HD is not only easier to fit behind TVs but also more portable for users on the go. An added advantage is that it can draw power from the TV’s USB port, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter.

According to Amazon, the new Fire TV Stick HD is their thinnest streaming device yet, optimized for Direct Power through the TV’s USB port for a more compact installation behind a TV. In terms of functionality, it provides seamless access to popular streaming services like Disney+, Apple TV, Prime Video, iPlayer, ITVX, and Netflix, complemented by a user-friendly remote featuring Alexa voice search and quick app launch buttons.

While it doesn’t support 4K content, the Fire TV Stick HD delivers full HD viewing quality, suitable for most households. Amazon claims significant speed enhancements compared to previous HD models, with over a 30% increase in speed for quicker startup and app loading times.

The device comes equipped with the latest Fire operating system, promising a cleaner interface, enhanced recommendations, and easier navigation for finding content to watch. The Fire TV Stick HD is expected to be available in stores on April 29th at a price of £39.99.
