Kamala Harris has revealed her contemplation of a potential presidential run during an exchange with TV host Rev Al Sharpton at a civil rights convention. “I might,” she acknowledged. “I’m considering it. But let me add this. I have spent four years in close proximity to the Presidency, working extensively in the West Wing, Oval Office, and Situation Room.”

Expressing her firsthand experience and insights into the role, Harris emphasized the necessity for change, stating, “The current state of affairs is ineffective and has failed many individuals for an extended period.” This statement marks her strongest inclination yet towards running as the Democratic candidate in the forthcoming 2028 Presidential election.

Despite being perceived as an underdog by oddsmakers for the upcoming election, Harris consistently leads in national polls among Democratic contenders, surpassing California Governor Gavin Newsom by over seven percentage points on average.

Harris initially hinted at a potential third bid for the presidency in an interview with the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg last year, asserting, “I am not finished. Service has defined my entire career, and it runs deep within me.”
