In the final round of the Masters on Sunday, LIV Golf standout Tyrrell Hatton expressed his frustration with the course after encountering an early setback. Hatton, who started the day at 4-under following a level par on Saturday and a strong 66 on Friday, opened with a birdie on the par-5 second hole but then faltered with a dropped shot on the 251-yard par-3 fourth hole, which proved to be a costly mistake.

The English golfer’s tee shot went slightly long, landing just off the green. What should have been a routine two-putt for someone of his caliber turned into a challenge. After his first attempt left him three feet away, Hatton made an unfortunate error with his putt hitting the lip, leading to visible frustration from the 34-year-old known for occasional emotional outbursts. Despite his anger, he eventually completed the hole on his fourth try.

Shortly after Hatton’s incident, fellow golfer Wyndham Clark also had a similar mishap with his par putt catching the lip, resulting in a bogey, and he too expressed his frustration with an expletive.

Following his rocky start, Hatton’s performance improved with an eagle on the seventh hole and a birdie on the eighth, boosting his morale. His struggles on the fourth hole, possibly exacerbated by the firm greens due to the Augusta heat, were shared by other players.

Meanwhile, Hatton’s teammate Jon Rahm, despite carding a 4-under round, faced challenges on the unusually firm Augusta National course. Rahm, 1-over for the tournament, acknowledged the uniqueness of the conditions and expressed plans to adjust his approach for future editions.

As Hatton finished his final round at -10, taking the clubhouse lead, he watched on as other contenders like Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose continued their rounds.
