A tragic incident occurred as a three-month-old infant has passed away in a hospital after sustaining severe injuries. The baby was swiftly transported to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary in critical condition following an emergency response at a residence in Eston, North Yorkshire, on Sunday, October 5. Despite efforts to save the child’s life, Cleveland Police have confirmed the heartbreaking news of the baby’s demise.

Bradley Thomas, 22, appeared in court on Tuesday, October 7, facing charges of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent under section 18. Thomas, residing on Grasmere Road, Redcar, did not offer a plea during a brief session at Teesside Magistrates’ Court. He has been detained in custody and is scheduled to appear at Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday, November 5.

A spokesperson for the police expressed condolences, stating, “Our thoughts are with the family of the baby during this very challenging period.” Cleveland Police’s official statement conveyed the unfortunate news, detailing the circumstances surrounding the infant’s death after the emergency response in Eston on October 5. The 22-year-old suspect remains in police custody pending the court appearance on November 5 at Teesside Crown Court.
