Thousands of individuals globally experienced disruptions on the Microsoft 365 network for several hours on Thursday. Users encountered difficulties accessing key services such as Microsoft Teams, Azure, and Minecraft. Microsoft acknowledged the issue and assured users that they were actively working to resolve the outage affecting multiple major services.

According to Downdetector, the peak of the Microsoft 365 outages occurred around 10 am, with additional reports coming in for Azure, Teams, and the Microsoft Store. Microsoft confirmed that Azure customers utilizing Azure Front Door (AFD) in EMEA, Middle East, and Africa might encounter intermittent delays or timeouts when accessing their services.

The tech giant stated that Azure customers using Azure Front Door (AFD) should now experience consistent availability with slightly improved latencies as additional resources are being restored.

Microsoft also highlighted the upcoming end of free support for Windows 10, urging users to upgrade to Windows 11 or consider Extended Security Updates to safeguard their devices from potential vulnerabilities and cyber threats.

Following the recent outage, Microsoft reassured Azure customers that efforts were ongoing to address the issues, with a significant portion of the impacted resources already recovered. The company confirmed that the AFD service had been fully restored.

Despite earlier disruptions, current reports indicate that most Microsoft 365 and Azure users are no longer facing problems. However, some individuals, particularly gamers, continue to experience difficulties accessing services like the Azure Portal.

Microsoft engineers are actively resolving Azure issues, with 96% of impacted resources already recovered. The network health status map reflects that all Microsoft services are operational.

Microsoft provided updates regarding the issues affecting Microsoft Azure, assuring users that resolution was expected within the next hour and a half. The company attributed the problems to capacity loss in Azure Front Door instances, primarily in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Reports on Downdetector indicated issues with Minecraft and Fortnite, with users encountering difficulties connecting to servers. Microsoft addressed the authentication problems in Minecraft and ongoing investigations into service disruptions on Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms.

In summary, Microsoft users experienced temporary disruptions on Thursday, with the tech giant actively working to restore services and address underlying issues impacting the network.
